The Mississippi Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan establishes the Mississippi Commission for Volunteer Service (Volunteer Mississippi) as the State Coordinating Agency for both Volunteer Management and Donations Management for communities affected by disaster. Volunteer Mississippi has established msdisasterresponse.org as the state portal for registration of volunteers and for monetary, online donations.
Volunteer Mississippi has an agreement with the Gulf Coast Community Foundation for managing funds collected through the portal. Volunteer Mississippi does not collect any fees or residuals from these donations and works diligently with providers to minimize transaction fees.
